Think before you speak, especially in another language.
Our waitress at Chez Vernaise last night (a restaurant in the 5ème, housed in a building once inhabited by Ernest Hemingway) was highly amused when I tried to order a "box of water" instead of a bottle. Whoops...it's hard to think on your feet sometimes!

One of my favorite things about Paris is how every night a group of strangers gathers on a certain bridge over the Seine to watch the sun set.
Paris is a city built for couples. It is also, however, the best place in the world to be single.
It tickles me that nearly anywhere you go in Paris you can buy for a euro an ear of corn somebody roasted over a trash can – and it will actually be delicious.
As they say, Paris is just one big party that never goes to sleep. I believe it.
I can't resist a chocolate éclair.
Christian Dior graduated from Sciences Po. I really love that fact.
People actually do wear flip-flops in Paris – but I've never seen a hooded sweatshirt.

Well, then she might come off as a little more French, lol
I'm pretty sure the french are way beyond boxed wine...
Boite and bouteille are different.
For exemple, u'd rather say :
- bouteille d'eau ( bottle of water)
- boite de chocolats ( can of chocolats)
And for beverages packed in rectangular boxes, u'd rather say :
- brique de lait ( carton of milk)
- brique de jus d'orange ( carton of orange juice)
and water is usually packed in a bottle and not in a carton. To say " boite d'eau" is pretty weird. That what probably made the waitress laugh.
